The first generation Mustang 2+2 was the staple of performance car culture in the mid 60's and 57 years later still remains one of the hottest commodities in the classic car marketplace. Factory issue options for this particular Mustang include;  Premium fuel 289 4V engine, Cruise-O- Matic transmision, 16:1 steering, performance handling package with 15/16 front sway bar, GT exhaust tips, Sports Console, deluxe woodgrain GT wheel, factory 6K tach, clock, fold down rear seat, Carlite tinted glass and desirable Pony appointed (luxury) interior and as expected from a car of this caliber everything is mechanically sorted and nothing less than functional down to its original Philco pushbutton AM radio. It didn't take long for Ford Motor Company to respond to the Pony car challenge in 1965 with the production of the A Code Mustang Fastback. From it's originality to it's restoration level, to it's drivability, it's hard to find anything in the negative column for this particular Mustang that's as complete a package you could ever want in a 1965 Fastback.

Ford came through with all of the extra performance hardware to back up it's high power act with the 1965 A Code 2+2. Some of the factory perfomance options for this particular Mustang include; Competition Handling package with special rate springs and larger sway bar, premium fuel 289 4V engine, 5 dial gauge packge, HCC-AX fast response steering, dual exhaust and 3.00:1 axle to name a few.

This particular Mustang 2+2 has has all the bases covered from a restoration standpoint including the paint finish that's been professionaly PPG Base cleared and color sanded to absolute perfection in desirable Code X Vintage Burgundy. Every other exterior trim piece on this Mustang is equally as perfect from the tail light trim right through to it's NOS front and rear bumpers.

Choosing from the 1965 Mustang option list you could get almost any combination of comfort and performance. This interior has all of the requisite GT options some of which include; Sports console, deluxe wood wheel, Sport Deck rear seat, 6K tach, Carlite tinted glass, day/night mirror, remote mirror and the always in demand Pony Decor package with everything absolutely immaculate and functional down to it's original issue Rally Pac.

The A Code 289 served as a form of shorthand for Ford's performance engine line-up in 1965 and included; 4.00 X 2.27 bore and stroke, lightweight construction, 4 Venturi carburetor and 9.0:1 compression ratio with 300 ft lbs of torque. This is the original numbers matching engine for the car that's been professionaly rebuilt closed to factory 225HP standards with only show miles driven since completion.
